Local Sick Leave Ordinances

In October 2013, Jersey City became the first city in the state to enact its own sick leave ordinance. Newark followed in March 2013. Since then, Passaic (passed September 2, 2014), East Orange (passed September 8, 2014), Paterson (passed September 9, 2014), Irvington (passed September 9, 2014), Montclair (approved by voters November 4, 2014) and Trenton (approved by voters November 4, 2014), Trenton (approved by voters November 4, 2014), and Bloomfield (passed March 2, 2015) have acted.
